LOKI’s First Day Outstreams Several Avengers
The God of Mischief has arrived on Disney+, and take it from us, Marvel Blog True Believers: he is pulling out all the stops! According to a report on Deadline, on the first day that the first episode of Loki was available for streaming on Disney+, more people watched than viewed either of the first episodes for WandaVision or Captain America and the Winter Soldier on the first day.
The article goes on to note that those trends continued over the the crucial “first three days of streaming” time period. Clearly, time has no meaning in the TVA (or maybe it’s because people forgot that it was Loki Wednesdays, not Loki Fridays).
Loki Wednesdays Are Here to Stay
What does that mean for you, Marvel Blog True Believers? Well, for one thing, if the three day period of Wednesday-Thursday-Friday gets more views than the three-day period of Friday-Saturday-Sunday, you can just bet that Loki’s Wednesday release will set-up the pattern for the upcoming releases in the Disney+ Marvel Cinematic Universe streaming calendar.
But it also means that Loki continues to be one of the most popular characters in the whole of the MCU. Did you get a chance to see the first episode yet, Marvel Blog True Believers? It’s very easy to understand why so many people are streaming this time-bending new series!
Another New Record
Previously, Captain America and the Winter Soldier usurped WandaVision’s first-day views (and while I may be the number one Scarlet Witch fan in this dimension, I can admit that I understand why WandaVision’s first few episodes felt like a slow-burn to some viewers).
However, Marvel Studios’ Loki hits the ground running right out of the gate. I mean, literally, the first scene takes place in the midst of an Avengers movie, and never slows down, a pattern we suspect will continue throughout the show’s six-episode run.
Were you one of the millions of viewers who streaming Loki in its first three days of release? You just know I was, Marvel Blog True Believers! Let us know in the comment section what you thought of the episode!
