Loki’s EGG-citing Natalie Holt Threw ‘Frogspawn’ at Simon Cowell
O.K., okay, the Britain’s Got Talent musician, Natalie Holt, didn’t exactly throw frogspawn on Simon Cowell eight years ago, but it was close enough: she pelted him with an entire carton of chicken eggs. And now, Holt is a composer for one of the most successful shows on Disney+, Marvel Studios’ Loki.

What Happened to Holt on BGT?
During season seven of Britain’s Got Talent, Holt was a member of the orchestra providing back-up for contestants Richard and Adam Johnson. About one minute and 45 seconds into the Johnson brothers performance things went haywire. Suddenly from directly behind them, Holt emerges (dressed in all black with a smile on her face) holding a carton eggs that she had hidden in her tights to lob at the shell-shocked Cowell.
Holt managed to successfully interrupt the live musical performance to pelt the judges with eggs, hurling several eggs at the well-dressed Cowell before the show’s security guards manage to carry her off stage.
It probably comes as no surprise that she faced criticism from celebrities and BGT fans alike, even being branded a “stupid cow,” after the incident. However, despite admitting herself it was a “silly thing to do” shortly afterwards, she never apologized to Cowell.
Holt did apologize to her friends for crashing their performance to engage in her “little act of protest” that aimed to highlight the fact that the music industry is dominated by reality show ratings, not nurturing talented musicians and entertainers.
“I basically took a stand against people miming on television and against Simon and his dreadful influence on the music industry,” she told The Telegraph at the time.
Who Is Natalie Holt?
Holt’s career certainly hasn’t be derailed by the attack on Cowell.
Prior to her infamous appearance on Britain’s Got Talent, Holt was also a member of the RaVen Quartet, a London-based string quartet that performed with Madness during the 2012 London Olympics Closing Ceremony.
Her breakthrough in composing came in 2012, when she worked with Martin Phipps on Great Expectations, which was nominated for a BAFTA award for Best Score. She has also provided additional music on major films like 2018’s Paddington.
Holt is now the composer for Loki, the latest Marvel series on Disney+, and her work on the series is already winning her praise from critics and fans alike.

The Washington Post claimed:
Loki is beautifully scored by British composer Natalie Holt, who delivers a mostly suspenseful and mysterious vibe while providing Marvel’s horned menace with a theme song that might just be the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s best.
