‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Star Weighs in on the Film’s “V-Max” Twist
While Spider-Man: Brand New Day has firmly established itself as one of the most popular films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) canon, the film’s central twist has divided fans.

As you may recall, Brand New Day begins with Sadie Sink’s Jean Grey trying to determine what the Department of Damage Control has to do with the mysterious V-Max.
Eventually, the mystery is resolved when Jean looks up from her chair in captivity and realizes that V-Max was a reference to the label on the air conditioning unit above.

Since Brand New Day hit theaters, fans have debated whether or not the V-Max twist was a satisfying conclusion to the film’s central mystery.

Now, one of the film’s main stars has weighed in.
Tramell Tillman
In a recent interview with Polygon, Tramell Tillman, who plays Bill Metzger in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, shared his thoughts on the V-Max twist.

“I thought it was really creative. It was a vent. But it was heartbreaking because you realize that was the last thing Jean’s sister saw,” he said.
“I thought that was really clever storytelling. It’s a testament to the writers and to Destin’s direction in really letting that land.”
The Debate Rages On
While the V-Max twist has both its detractors and defenders, the moment was certainly memorable.

Throughout most of the film, it appeared that Gray was searching for a weapon, person, or secret program that would be the key to finding her sister.
In the end, the real meaning behind V-Max was much more heartbreaking.
