DEADPOOL & KORG React to FREE GUY Trailer
In a YouTube video uploaded by Ryan Reynolds on Tuesday, July 13th, 2021, Deadpool (Reynolds) and Korg (Taika Waititi) react to the trailer for Free Guy, a movie that features both actors and arrives in theaters on August 14th, 2021.

Deadpool’s Maximum Reactions
The video shows us Korg and Deadpool sitting on the couch in Deadpool’s apartment, reacting to the trailer for Free Guy.
In the reaction video, Deadpool makes plenty of jokes about not having a Disney+ show, and even asks Korg for personal advice on how to make it into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Korg is not very helpful).

Deadpool also makes a reference to the word “fridging.” This term was coined by Gail Simone, who went on to write a run of Deadpool herself (ironically, Simone’s run was one of the primary inspirations for Deadpool 2, a movie that Deadpool specifically calls out for fridging Vanessa (Morena Baccarin).

Free Guy
Free Guy was a movie that was made by Fox Studios before The Walt Disney Studios and 21st Century Fox merged in 2019 – hence Deadpool’s joke that it looks fun, in a “Last days of Fox fire sale kind of way.”

However, because the movie was one of the properties acquired by Disney in the acquisition of Fox Studios, and because the movie features two actors who are part of the MCU, it seems as though this cute (and clearly effective) bit of cross-promotion was born out of this merger. In fact, the movie looks like Ready Player One crossed over into the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

This video is filled with tons of quick jokes, with one of my favorites being Deadpool wrestling with a ring light (the pandemic changed all of us, Wade). It also appears as though the Korg animation was specifically made for this YouTube video, which suggests that the technological advances made by Marvel Studios are getting pretty freaking cost effective!
