Sylvester Stallone to Return in GUARDIANS VOL 3
In an article posted to Murphy’s Multiverse on Tuesday, July 27th, 2021, it was reported that Sylvester Stallone will be reprising the role of Stakar Ogord in the upcoming third volume in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy.
The Return of the Ravagers
Stallone’s character was introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, in which viewers learned that Yondu (Michael Rooker) had a history with Ogord. Well, at least until Ogord turned Yondu out of the Ravagers for transporting living cargo, the children of Ego (Kurt Russell… but in universe his kid is Star-Lord, not U.S. Agent).
At the conclusion of the movie, Ogord and many other former Ravagers appeared to give the late Yondu a proper Ravager funeral, which looks really cool and is incredibly touching – you can watch it yourself right now on Disney+.
In that scene, it seemed as though Ogord was going to reunite with his former crew, which included Charlie-27 (Ving Rhames), Martinex (Michael Rosenbaum), Aleta Orgord (Michelle Yeoh, who also appears as Jiang Nan in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), Mainframe (Miley Cyrus), and Krugarr.
Stallone’s Friends Spill on Zoom
This report comes out of a Zoom Q&A with director Randall Emmett, a friend of Stallone’s who was conducting press for his movie Midnight in the Switchglass. Emmett stated that Stallone was working on both the next Expendables and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Guardians director James Gunn has long hinted that we’d be seeing more of the supporting Ravagers in the future, and with the news that Stallone will be appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, those rumors have all but been confirmed.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Which characters do you hope to see on the big screen when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 arrives in theaters? Does Stallone’s presence on-set mean we might see him in Cosmic Rewind, the Disney World attraction that will be filmed concurrently with Volume Three?
