REVIEW: Across the Ocean with W.E.B. of Spider-Man #4
In W.E.B. of Spider-Man #4 by Kevin Shinick, Alberto Alburquerque, Rachelle Rosenberg, and Travis Lanham, with a main cover by Gurihiru, we get the next chapter in the ongoing story of this title, which is a tie-in to the brand-new attraction at Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim, California…
Although with the past two issues taking place in Paris, France, you’d be forgiven for thinking that this story might have something to do with the Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel!
W.E.B. of Spider-Man
This issue continues the investigation of what’s up with “the Green Goblin,” or whoever that spectre may actually prove to be. Peter Parker has suspected that it isn’t the real Gobby all along, and the clues keep adding up. And in W.E.B. of Spider-Man #4, we get some concrete details on what his deal really is.
Meanwhile, Amadeus Cho plays a role in this issue after arriving on the last page of W.E.B. of Spider-Man #3. While Cho does get a decent sized part in this issue, I did feel like the rest of the supporting cast was somewhat overlooked… I guess there are a lot of kids in this brigade by now.
Finally, Iron Man makes a re-appearance, which seemed a little redundant. I know Tony Stark is important to the current Spider-Man sensibilities (and the attraction’s internal storyline), but I’m here for the Worldwide Engineering Brigade, not Mr. Fortune 500! But I love you 3000, Tony… just in smaller doses (personally)!
