CELEBRITY PULL LIST: Samuel L. Jackson’s Pull List
In a tweet sent by Chris Arrant on Sunday, October 3rd, 2021, we learned that Samuel L. Jackson spent some time at Golden Apple Comics in Los Angeles, California, the preceding Friday afternoon! Apparently Nick Fury loves to flip through the back issue bins as he waits for the comic shop to grab his pull box – yes, celebrities have pull lists too.

Jackson has been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since the very first entry, 2008’s Iron Man (don’t turn off the movie when the credits roll, Marvel Blog True Believers), so perhaps it’s no surprise that he’s searching for back issues at his Local Comic Shop (LCS). Could he be searching for Secret Invasion tie-ins in preparation for the character’s return on Disney+?
Celebrities Love Comic Shops
If “Golden Apple Comics” sounds familiar, well, there’s a reason for that, Marvel Blog True Believers!

This Los Angeles comic book shop is a popular destination for many Hollywood stars – doubly so when they’re MCU-adjacent, like Jackson, who is clearly a regular at the shop (however, those scenes from Glass and Unbreakable were filmed at Ontario St. Comics).
Earlier this year, we also saw images of Jonathan Majors, who played “He Who Remains” in the first season finale of Loki, and will be playing the role of Kang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, visiting the Southern California comic shop.
And the shop hosted several events featuring Jordan Blum, Patton Oswalt, and Melissa Fumero to celebrate the release of Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. on Hulu!

Not Just the Best Coast
And the celebrity affection for comic book shops isn’t confined to the Best Coast, Marvel Blog True Believers! We have scoured the internet for more photos of celebrities reading comics, and we’re ready to start a regular feature, but first: remember when RiRi hit the billion dollar mark?
A few months ago, just after achieving billionaire status, Rihanna went on a shopping spree that included a visit to Forbidden Planet comic shop in New York City. I wonder if she stopped to visit her other marvelous friends while she was in the city!
