Samuel L. Jackson Returns to Set of Secret Invasion
In a post made to Instagram on Friday, October 15th, 2021, Samuel L. Jackson, who has played Nick Fury since the mid-credits sequence of the very first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, 2008’s Iron Man, confirmed that he has returned to set to film Secret Invasion, the upcoming MCU series on Disney+!

The upcoming Secret Invasion has a plot that’s been kept well under wraps, but there are a few things we know about the highly anticipated series.

First of all, we’ve learned a lot about the cast, and considering the returning characters, we can figure out a lot with the narrative pieces we have so far.
It will not only feature the return of Jackson, but also Ben Mendelsohn as Talos the Skrull! We first met this character in 2019’s Captain Marvel, when he and Fury were introduced back in the 1990s. Although they at first were at odds with one another, by the conclusion of the movie, they were allies (this is basically the Marvel Comics way, Marvel Blog True Believers)!

Then in 2019’s Spider-Man 2: Far From Home, we learned that Fury continued to work closely with the Skrulls in the post-Snap world.

More Skrull action took place in the season finale of 2021’s WandaVision, when we saw a Skrull agent return to Earth in order to recruit Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris).

In addition to the returning actors, we’ve also heard a lot about the new actors who will be appearing in the series. These include many British performers like Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Olivia Colman (Sherlock), and Killian Scott (Dublin Murders).

Fury is Back
Jackson tagged his instagram post with hashtags that included #F**ckthatSnap and #BackWithAFury.
