Meet Cosmo & His Spacesuit-Clad Pups in Guardians of the Galaxy
It won’t be long now before you get the chance to play Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, the upcoming Marvel video game that will be released on October 26th, 2021. But yesterday, on Monday, October 18th, 2021, the official Marvel Games Twitter account Tweeted an image that highlights one of the stars of the anticipated console game: Cosmo and his spacesuit-clad brood of puppies!

Cosmo & Puppies
You may recognize Cosmo from his appearance in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, where he was one of the items on display in the Collector’s collection. But in case you forgot, here’s an incredible look at GotG director James Gunn on set with Fred, the pup who portrayed Cosmo in the first movie!
And then, here’s another look at Fred, who is so adorable as he waits patiently on set (and sorry, Marvel Blog True Believers, I can’t seem to figure out if Fred is an actor or an incredibly life-like animatronic)!

No matter what part of the multiverse Cosmo lands in, I think it’s safe to assume he’s one of the prize objects contained within the Collector’s cages: in fact, Cosmo is predominantly featured in the queue for Guardians of the Galaxy – MISSION BREAKOUT!, the attraction at Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim, California, that sees you nearly becoming part of the collection, yourself!

While you are waiting in line for MISSION BREAKOUT, you get up close and personal with Cosmo, who even leaves the distinctive Golden Retriever trademark on his glass cage: a bunch of smeared puppy snot! Furthermore, if you look closely at this adorable animatronic, you’ll see that he has a small raccoon chew toy, highlighting the fraught relationship between Cosmo and Rocket in the panels of Marvel Comics.

While we haven’t gotten the chance to see Cosmo’s adorable puppies on-screen in the MCU yet, this incredible image from the upcoming game has us crossing our fingers. Hey, I hear the Maximoffs of Westview are in the market for a new puppy! Maybe they can take one (just keep him away from Agatha).
