How to Draw Sersi
The video is hosted by Lorraine Cink, who appears in many of the videos from Marvel Comics. You may not realize this, Marvel Blog True Believers, but completing a drawing like this is not a fast process, and the footage runs to an hour and half long.
During the drawing session, Cink asks Nakayama plenty of questions about his body of work and personal history with Marvel Comics (including some taken from the audience). For example, Nakayama cites Jim Lee as his initial inspiration for becoming a comic artist.
Nakayama also revealed that his favorite superhero is Captain America, who he admires for being a decent person who is attempting to achieve justice in spite of putting himself at personal risk in order to achieve that end. Nakayama also admitted that he was a huge fan of the X-Men, and will always jump at the opportunity to draw the mutants.
Nakayama is an alumni of the Kubert School and says that he got the gig with Marvel by schlepping his portfolio to different comic book conventions… but both Cink and Nakayama end up agreeing that email is a big improvement!
The “How to Draw Sersi” video was sponsored by Marvel Strike Force, the game that you can play on your mobile phone now.
