DISNEY+ DAY: Return of the Marvel Zombies!
Today, Friday, November 12th, 2021, is Disney+ Day, the two-year anniversary of the launch of everyone’s favorite Marvelous streaming service! To mark the occasion, Disney is released announcements and first looks featuring some of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe content you can look forward to streaming on Disney+ in the future. Among the most exciting revelations is the fact that we’ll be seeing more Marvel Zombies sooner than we think, thanks to an animated Marvel Zombies series!
Marvel Zombies
It’s only been a few weeks since we first got to see Marvel Zombies come to life on Disney+, in the What If…? episode “What If… Zombies?” However, we’ll be seeing more of the undead superheroes in the not-too-distant future thanks to this newly announced animated series.
In the What If…? episode, Peter Parker teamed up with several other survivors, joining forces to stay one step ahead of the undead masses. But while zombies can be a problem when they’re just resurrected versions of normal humans, imagine what kind of issues arise when you’re dealing with superhumans! We saw a great example in the What If…? episode, thanks to the fact that Vision (Paul Bettany) was unable to bury Wanda Maximoff, even after she became a super magical killer zombie.
Will the Marvel Zombies series pick up this story where we left off – in other words, with an undead version of Thanos standing in front of Wakanda and ready to eat the faces off our heroes? We’ll just have to wait and see!
But one thing’s for sure: I’m hoping that, unlike the “What if… Zombies?” episode of What If…?, this upcoming Marvel Zombies series does NOT mention Harry Potter. What does that kid’s series have to do with zombies, anyway? Nothing!
If you want to reference something, maybe consider the greatest zombie movies of all time, The Dead Cycle by George A. Romero. I mean, all six of them are sitting right there, guys!
