Investigation: How Much SECRET INVASION Have We Seen?
In an article posted to Deadline on Friday, November 12th, 2021, reporter Anthony D’Alessandro covered the Secret Invasion images released during Disney+ Day. But were all of the images really from Secret Invasion, or do we have some fakes in our midst? Marvel Blog conducts a special Secret Invasion investigation!
Eye on Fury
These images came from the Marvel Studios Disney+ Day special released on Friday, November 12th. We previously covered this special here on Marvel Blog, including the “trick arrows” car chase from Hawkeye and the image of an older Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), presumably as he will appear in Secret Invasion.

But while we can be assured that the Fury photo is from Secret Invasion, here at Marvel Blog, we aren’t so sure about the other image included in the Deadline article. In another scene included in the special, we saw a pair of green legs clad in a swanky dress, stepping out of what appeared to be a fancy car – think a high-profile person arriving at a red carpet premiere.

The Deadline article speculates that this could be Queen Veranke, a Skrull character who plays a big role in the comics (and who some people online are already speculating will be the role played by Emilia Clarke).
Look, I know this looks like Spider-Woman, but trust me, it’s Queen Veranke. From Secret Invasion #8 by Brian Michael Bendis, Leinil Francis Yu, Mark Morales, Laura Martin, and Chris Eliopoulos.
However, here at Marvel Blog, we had assumed these jade legs belonged to Jen Walters, A.K.A. She-Hulk, played by Tatiana Maslany in the upcoming She-Hulk series on Disney+.

Because of the way the special is cut, it isn’t necessarily clear which show every clip comes from, and video from both She-Hulk and Secret Invasion were included (not to mention clips from Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and even Marvel Zombies).

Secret Invasion will also star Ben Medelsohn as Talos, plus Kingsley Ben-Adir, Olivia Colman, Carmen Ejogo, Christopher McDonald, and Killian Scott in unrevealed roles.
