Gwenpool Pet Jeff Returns in 2022 with IT’S MORE JEFF!
Gwenpool, your landshark is off his leash! In an article posted on the official Marvel website on Thursday, November 25th, 2021, it was revealed that we all have something to be thankful for this year: It’s More Jeff, a continuation of the It’s Jeff Infinity Comic on Marvel Unlimited by Kelly Thompson and Gurihiru, will be arriving in 2022!
It’s More Jeff!
Jeff is a diminutive landshark who is the pet of Gwen Poole (A.K.A. Gwenpool). Now, we all know that Gwenpool is hands-down one of the greatest characters ever to appear in the panels of Marvel Comics, so understand how seriously I take this statement: somehow, her pet landshark might be even greater!
Jeff first made an appearance in West Coast Avengers (2019) #7 by Thompson, Daniele Di Nicuolo, Tríona Farrell, and Joe Caramagna, with a cover by Eduard Petrovich.
He was created by M.O.D.O.K., when M.O.D.O.K. was calling himself B.R.O.D.O.K. (yes, it was weird, but let’s cross our fingers that we get to see B.R.O.D.O.K. in a future season of Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. on Hulu… because that will spare us having to see this nightmarish entity in live action).
After West Coast Avengers ended, Jeff continued to hang around with Gwenpool, appearing with her in Gwenpool Strikes Back.
And when Gwen made her way to the Deadpool series (also written by Thompson), she brought Jeff along with her (this makes good sense, as Deadpool was the King of Monster Island at the time, and while Jeff may be small, I do think the diminutive shark can fairly claim the title of “monster”).
Then, Jeff got to headline his own Infinity Comics series: It’s Jeff! This Marvel Unlimited exclusive featured the landshark in loads of ridiculous adventures (including a swimsuit issue – no kidding, Marvel Blog True Believers).
Not Enough Jeff
Do you still want more Jeff? So do we, Marvel Blog True Believers! While It’s More Jeff in 2022 is an exciting prospect, we shouldn’t stop there. When do we get a Jeff float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, anyway?
