Hot Ones Alert: Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Wings
In a Tweet sent on Tuesday, November 30th, 2021, the official “First We Feast” Twitter account released a clip of the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu, who plays the eponymous superhero, taking part in this week’s episode of the popular Hot Ones online series, in which actors and other celebrities attempt to withstand a plethora of seriously fiery hot sauces.

And in a follow-up Quote Tweet of the Hot Ones clip, Liu himself provided a pun worthy of an Avenger: Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Wings!

In the short video clip that was included in First We Feast’s initial Tweet, Liu expresses his concern about tasting the intimidating hot sauces.

“I am pretty nervous,” said Liu. “I’m not gonna lie. I’m looking at the sauces, and, um… oh my god, that is just the face of a monster that’s spitting out fire. So… I don’t, I don’t know… I don’t know. Let’s see what happens.”
You may be thinking, “That doesn’t sound like an Avenger gearing up for battle.” But consider this, Marvel Blog True Believers: bravery is being afraid and then doing something anyway. Now accept that plate of tacos from Smart Hulk and get ready for your taste buds to be sent to another dimension, Shang-Chi!

First We Feast couldn’t help but pick up on Liu’s pun-tacular response, and soon, a parody poster was Tweeted from the account, as well:
