No Way Home Showings Get Bulletproof Comics Pop-Up
In an article posted to Comics Beat on Thursday, December 30th, 2021, writer and teacher Ricardo Serrano Denis reported on the Bulletproof Comics pop-up that was set-up outside a New York City movie theater playing showings of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Bulletproof Comics Pop-Up
This is not the first time Bulletproof Comics has had a pop-up stand at Regal UA Sheepshead Bay – far from it, in fact! According to the article by Denis, the comic shop has been making appearances at the movie theater for over a decade, during the time that the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy was being released.

While we recommend you check out the article on The Beat to read all of the interesting quotes from Bulletproof Comics owner Hank Kwon, a key takeaway is that the comic shop has survived the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic thanks to community-oriented events… and these movie theater pop-ups are just one example!
And it isn’t just the community helping Bulletproof Comics, it’s also Bulletproof Comics helping its community: 20% of the proceeds from the sales of the comics at the pop-up go to the Stars of Hope charity.
As the report by Denis reveals, it isn’t just themed comics that are available at these Bulletproof Comics pop-ups, it’s also merch, like Funko Pops and Marvel Legends Action Figures.
According to Kwon, he doesn’t remember the specifics on how the pop-ups started, but they were definitely borne of someone at Regal UA theaters contacting him and proposing the idea. If there’s any movie theater managers reading this… maybe you should consider contacting the owner of your Local Comic Shop (LCS), too!
