Daredevil & Punisher Writers Join Echo on Disney+
In an article posted to The Illuminerdi on Saturday, January 8th, 2022, it was reported that some of the writers who worked on the Daredevil and Punisher shows at Netflix have joined the writers room for the upcoming Echo on Disney+!
Echo
According to the article, the writing team for Echo on Disney+ will be headed by lead writer Marion Dayre (Better Call Saul). The writer’s room will include Shoshannah Stern (Supernatural) and Bobby Wilson (Reservation Dogs). However, two of the additional members of the writer’s room have entries on their C.V. that will be very intriguing for Marvel Blog True Believers!
Ken Kristensen, the first writer, wrote “Virtue of the Victorious,” the tenth episode of the first season of The Punisher, as well as the third episode of season two, “Trouble the Water,” and the ninth episode of season two, “Flustercluck.”
Meanwhile, Dara Resnik was responsible for writing the eighth episode of Daredevil season three, “Upstairs/Downstairs,” as well as co-writing the third season’s eleventh episode, “Reunion,” with Jim Dunn.
Given that Echo’s comic book history is intimately tied in to stories of both Matt Murdock (played by Charlie Cox in Daredevil on Netflix, and in Spider-Man: No Way Home) and the Kingpin of Crime, Wilson Fisk (played by Vincent D’Onofrio on Netflix and in the first season of Hawkeye on Disney+), the inclusion of these writers in the room for the first season of Echo could suggest that these two characters will maintain some degree of continuity from their the original incarnations.
What’s that? You thought Kingpin died in the season finale to Hawkeye? You must be new here. Welcome to the Marvel Universe, newly minted Marvel Blog True Believer! Hope you survive the experience.
Coming to Disney+ Soon
