Celebrate Women’s History Month with Marvel Variants!
In an article posted to the official Marvel website on January 20th, 2022, a new batch of Marvelous variant covers were revealed. Thes covers will feature an all-star lineup of female artists depicting various Marvel super heroes stepping in for some of the most important women of history! This is an awesome idea for a variant series, and I’m already planning on calling my Local Comic Shop (LCS) and making arrangements to secure them for myself!
Women’s History Month
While Marvel has only revealed the first four in this variant cover series, they have already announced that two more will be revealed before the series begins in March 2022. Not only will these covers feature important historical figures remixed with incredible Marvel super heroes, it will also feature contributions from some of the most talented artists in Marvel Comics.

First up is Immortal X-Men #1’s variant by Ema Lupacchino, featuring Emma Frost of the X-Men stepping into the role of Queen Elizabeth I.

Next, Captain Carter #1 will feature a variant by Sara Pichelli, depicting Capter Carter as a British suffragette. Wham, bam, thank you ma’am!

Eternals #10 will feature a variant cover by Rian Gonzales featuring Sersi as Cleopatra.

And finally, X-Men Unlimited: Latitude #1 will feature a variant cover by Besty Cola which depicts Magick as Joan of Arc.
And if you’re curious about last year’s Women’s History Month variant covers, they took form of a series by Jen Bartel featuring some of the brightest female super heroes in the Marvel Comics multiverse wearing very stylish outfits.
