‘Moon Knight’ Directors Talk About What Fans Can Expect Out of Marvels Newest Series
The MCU’s newest series is just over a month away, and despite a brand new trailer, it seems there are more questions than answers; to which two of the Moon Knight directors talk about what fans can expect.
Marvel’s Phase Four is well underway, and it feels as though it’s the Studio latest slate of projects currently in development is their most ambitious crop yet.
From Eternals, Black Widow, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, to the Disney+ productions of Loki, WandaVision, and Hawkeye; the MCU is approaching what is perhaps the most revelatory age of its existence.
One of the most notable examples of that ambition is none other than Moon Knight; which will see the studio tackle what is all but guaranteed to be their most mature project yet.
The Oscar Isaac starring series will follow the journey of Marc Spector, a former mercenary who suffers from Disassociative identity disorder, one that massively affects how he perceives the world, and just how the Moon Knight persona comes to life.
The series will be helmed by some truly dynamic visionaries in the filmmaking world; with Mohamed Diab and the independent duo of Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead helming the majority of the series six episodes.
Yet, with the character of Moon Knight particularly enigmatic, the series first trailer didn’t give fans much insight as to what they can expect this March; other than the fact that the series will take the MCU in the direction it has yet to travel.
In a recent interview with The Playlist, the Moon Knight directors talk about what fans can expect out of the series, as Benson and Moorehead noted how their previous work will insight into what they do with the MCU’s newest hero.
The duo stated, “It’s stuff that’s kind of like what we already do. Archive 81 definitely shared DNA with [our previous films] The Endless and Resolution. You’ll see the same with Moon Knight.”
For context, Benson and Moorehead’s previous works were very much horror stories; with the duos three previous stories following dark and reality-altering stories of some of humanity’s most wicked states.
With Moon Knight’s more mature themes, it seems Benson and Moorhead are the perfect directors to bring the Fist of Khonshu to MCU audiences for the first time.
