Marvel Netflix Series May be Headed to Disney+
In a recent development, it appears as though the Marvel Netflix series could have found a new home, as the various properties may be headed to Disney+ in the becoming months.
Before the days of Disney+, and the exploration of the MCU to focus on some of its premiere characters in the format of a long-form series, there was the Marvel Netflix series; projects that focused on prominent Marvel characters that existed within the MCU.
Some of Marvel’s most beloved MCU characters came out of the Netflix endeavor, with Daredevil leading the charge quickly becoming one of the best Marvel series ever made, even to this day.
With the clear adoration from fans, characters from that original Daredevil series- in the form of Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk and Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdoch- both made their official MCU debut during Phase Four; with Kingpin appearing in the Hawkeye season finale, and Cox in the latest Spider-Man.
Yet, it was reported that those various series from Netflix were slated to leave the prominent streaming service, with no news as to where the various properties would find a new home; until now.
With many fans hoping that Disney would embrace the series, it could become a reality, as the Marvel Netflix series may be headed to Disney+ based on recent developments.
First reported by CBR.com, series from that Netflix collaboration- Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders– are making their Disney debuts on Disney+ in Canada starting this March 16th.
Although the various series haven’t been tabbed for an American Disney+ premiere, it seems as though the debut on Canada’s Disney+ is pointing to the eventual American debut in the very near future.
With the character’s popularity among MCU fans, it seems like a foregone conclusion that various characters from that collaboration will be making appearances within the various Phase Four projects to come; and we cannot wait!
