Marvels Newest Avengers Team Poised to be Their Strangest Team Yet
With their recent introduction coming in Avengers Forever #1, Jason Aarons and company debut Marvel’s newest Avengers tea; which could point to be their strangest team yet.
Over the eight decades of Marvel publications, there have been countless iterations of one of their premier teams; that being the Avengers.
The iconic team has most commonly seen a collection of some of Marvel’s most beloved and powerful heroes come together to defend- or Avenger, if you will- the Earth from an impending threat.
Within the vast history of the multiverse, the Avengers have taken up many different forms and incarnations; yet, Marvel’s newest Avengers team is poised to possibly be their strangest team yet.
Debuting in the Jason Aarons helmed Avengers Forever #1, Marvel fans were introduced to the lovable mess of a man that is Earth-818’s Anthony Stark; better known within his universe as Ant-Man.
The vast Wasteland that is that universe Earth-818 has led to a dystopian reality in which Starks creation of War Machines has crafted a post-apocalyptic world.
What do every post-apocalyptic universe Earth need to ensure its recovery? You guessed it, it’s very own incarnation of the Avengers.
With Anthony Stark’s alcoholic Ant-Man leading the way, however, this team may soon be experiencing a very difficult time living up to their name.
Ant-Man is joined by several characters brand new to the Marvel Universe, and are very unique multiversal versions of Marvel characters we all know and love.
A very robotic Vision, a female sword-wielding Moon Knight incarnation named Mariama Spector, a Wonder Man equipped with pale skin and red eyes, a multiversal version of Deathlok, and- last but certainly not least- Infinity Thing; a version of the beloved Ben Grim that is seemingly an Infinity Stone.
These various characters join together to rescue the Earth-616 version of Robbie Reyes, better known to comic book cans as the latest incarnation of Ghost Rider.
The team is shaping up to be an instant classic as far as Multiversal incarnations of the beloved Avengers go; and with the flaws in Anthony Stark acting at the forefront of his character, Marvel fans may have just found a new, rag-tag, team of multiversal heroes to fall in love with and root for.
