‘Deadpool 3’ Shares Suprising Distinction With MCUs Spider-Man
With the long-awaited addition to the Deadpool film franchise getting closer by the day, we’ve learned that Deadpool 3 shares a surprising distinction with the MCUs Spider-Man
There are few characters that have dominated the adoration of Marvel fans in the way that Deadpool has.
The character burst onto the pop culture scene with his first solo film in 2016, after almost a decade of the film’s star, Ryan Reynolds, working to bring the project to fruition.
Wade Wilson was an instant success, as the film has stood out as one of the biggest financial success stories in big-budget filmmaking history, and the character has decidedly become one of the industry’s most adored characters.
It isn’t difficult to see what makes Deadpool such a beloved character, as Ryan Reynolds patented charisma and charm intersect with Wade Wilson’s raunchy behavior to create something that is quite unlike anything film fans have ever seen before.
With the Disney acquisition of Fox, Deadpool has found his way onto the main MCU, and will make his Marvel Studios debut with the highly anticipated third film in the character’s franchise; a film that, to this point, boasts more questions than answers.
Yet, despite fans knowing very little about what to expect out of the film, we do know that Deadpool 3 will share a surprising distinction with the MCUs Spider-Man
First reported by ComicBook.com, it appears as though- via the film’s star and producer Ryan Reynolds- Deadpool 3 will be produced in part by the stars production company, Maximum Effort; making it the second film to be produced by a studio outside of Marvel Studios.
There is one other film that would technically fall under the same category as Deadpool 3, and the various Spider-Man films from Marve; that being 2008s The Incredible Hulk, as that film was produced by both Marvel Studios and Valhalla Entertainment, then distributed by Universal Pictures.
It is an interesting point to consider, as Spider-Man: No Way Home is one of Marvel’s most successful films of all time; Marvel can only hope that Deadpool 3 will follow suit. Which, based on its previous films’ financial success, may not be out of the question.
