Multiverse of Madness Popcorn Buckets for AMC Mimic Dr. Strange’s Magic Box
The Multiverse of Madness is mere weeks away! With a massive opening weekend already being projected; some Multiverse of Madness AMC Theatre merchandise in the form of popcorn buckets has popped up online!
The unique-looking popcorn buckets resemble the Macchina di Kavadus used by Doctor Strange in Spider-man: No Way Home.
AMC has created unique popcorn buckets in the past, such as the Ecto-1-themed popcorn bucket for Ghostbusters: Afterlife and The Batman cowl-themed popcorn bucket, utilizing awesome designs to produce a memorable piece of merchandise that fans can take home to collect.
User PsychotropicPineaple who posted the popcorn bucket mentioned that the image is taken from the top view, the bucket is cube-shaped, opening up from the top to give access to the popcorn. As mentioned, the bucket mirrors the Macchina di Kavadus giving it a nod to Spider-man: No Way Home and allowing movie-goers to take home their own magic box!
The Macchina di Kavadus was a magic relic used by Doctor Strange to contain a corrupted spell when Strange used the Runes of Kof Kol to help Peter Parker; after Parker’s secret identity had been revealed to the world. Peter Parker’s interruption of Strange’s spell, to omit certain people from forgetting he was Spider-man, resulted in corrupting the spells and tearing open the multiverse.
While the popcorn bucket is not an exact replica of the relic, it bears a great resemblance to the relic. It is also the same color orange that usually accompanies Doctor Strange’s spells. Along with a ton of runic lettering, the popcorn box gives a very distinct Doctor Strange feel.
As we close in on the theatrical release date for Doctor Strange’s second solo entry, audiences are beyond anticipated for the film, with even Fandango’s 2022 record for first-day ticket sales being broken. The film is shaping up to be a pivotal Marvel film in Phase 4.
What ramifications will follow Multiverse of Madness? What new or returning characters will make themselves known? We truly cannot hide our excitement and anticipation as May 6th draws near!
