With the recent debut of the iconic trailer for the long-awaited MCU sequel, a recent piece of Thor: Love and Thunder merch confirms Jane Foster’s cancer storyline.
There are few characters who resonate with Marvel fans as well as Thor, with the character becoming a staple in the MCU since his debut alongside the very inception of the very Universe.
He has firmly established himself as one of the most beloved Marvel heroes, and that connection and adoration were only confirmed with the response to the long-awaited debut of the very first Thor: Love and Thunder trailer.
The first look at the upcoming entry into the character MCU saga showed off a lot of what audiences can expect; including his time spent with the Guardians of the Galaxy and the official debut of Zeus and the gods of Mount Olympus.
Yet, what many fans were most excited for was the official first look at The Mighty Thor; with Natalie Portman reprising her role as Jane Foster to wield the iconic Mjolnir, inheriting the mantle of Thor.
Although the appearance is something that fans have been aware of for the better part of three years, the official first look was everything that they could’ve hoped for and then some; while still raising some questions as to how the character would be introduced in the fourth Thor film.
It turns out that the MCU will be sticking to the comic book origin, however, a new piece of Thor: Love and Thunder merch confirm Jane Foster’s cancer storyline that became the most important factor to her wielding the hammer in the comics.
As reported by Screenrant.com, the product description reads, “Suffering from cancer, astrophysicist and Thor’s ex-girlfriend, Jane Foster, visited New Asgard, and her life was changed forever. Mysteriously, the broken pieces of Mjolnir, the hammer of the thunder god, transformed her into the Mighty Thor and gifted her the superpowers of Thor, to battle threats internal and external.”
The description continues, reading, “Wielding Mjolnir herself, she had become a godly protector and a new hero was born! With the help of Thor, Valkyrie, and the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Mighty Thor was faced by the powerful Gorr, the God Butcher.
It concludes by reading, “With divine powers himself, Gorr was driven to rid the universe of gods wherever he found them. Battling cancer in her human form and Gorr in her godly form, Jane Foster was embroiled in an epic struggle with plenty of love and thunder!”
It is interesting that this piece of Thor: Love and Thunder mech confirms Jane Foster’s Cancer storyline, but also adds to the anticipation for the upcoming film and just how they will go about telling this incredible story.
