‘Moon Knight’ Writer Talks Potential ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Tie-In During Finale
With projects that are both centered around mythological deities, Moon Knight Writer Beau DeMayo talks about a potential Thor: Love and Thunder tie-in during the finale.
Marvel’s latest series has been one of its best, as Moon Knight has transcended nearly all expectations, and presented audiences with some of the best storytelling that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has to offer.
As mature a story as Marvel has ever attempted, Moon Knight explores heavy themes of mental illness and child abuse in a series that is as emotionally charged and resonant as anything the MCU has crafted in its decade-plus long history; compiled with its intriguing take on mythological beings and deities.
With the weighty concepts that the series has embraced becoming the primary focus of the last two episodes, it is easy to lose sight of the use of mystical entities and mythological deities as the backbone of the series; with another Marvel, the project having a similar focus.
Moon Knight speaks of ancient Egyptian gods that walk among man, and the premise of the upcoming Thor sequel is centered on the character of Gorr the God Butcher destroying the presence of all gods in the universe; so could they intersect?
In an interview with The Direct, Moon Knight writer, Beau DeMayo, talks about the potential Thor: Love and Thunder tie in during the finale, and whether or not Gorr makes an attempt at Khosnhu or one of the many Avatars in the series.
DeMayo states, “You know, I don’t know what they are doing in [Thor: Love and Thunder]. My honest answer is ‘I don’t know… You do have to wonder. I’m really excited to see it. You know, it’s a question on my mind.”
The writer continued, “I’m like curious when I see Thor, like, ‘Is there going to be something? Is there not?’ That’s kind of like- well, that’s the thing at Marvel when you’re writing for them is that they’re very, very creatively collaborative, but you are kind of in your silo, your show.”
It would be interesting to see Gorr arrive in Moon Knight, although it is a far-fetched idea considering the lack of exposure fans have had to the character prior to his appearance in the highly anticipated Thor: Love and Thunder.
