‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ Set Photos Tease a Very Important Comic Planet
With the beloved MCU franchise approaching what will likely be its most important entry, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 set photos tease a very important comic book planet.
We have said it, and will continue to say it; there is perhaps no single franchise or director that has had as big of an impact on the current incarnation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the James Gunn-helmed Guardians of the Galaxy.
The franchise was the first true risk for Marvel Studios, and presented the creation and establishment of a brand new realm for which the Marvel Cinematic Universe could exist; with the cosmic aspects of the MCU remaining, at that time, underdeveloped.
James Gunn and company established the aesthetic and humor that would begin to bleed into film like Thor: Ragnarok and the final two Infinity Saga films; with the Guardians franchise acting as the proof of concept that this form of filmmaking could thrive in the big-budget setting.
The evolution and growth of that original Guardian team will reach a transcendent level with the long-awaited third installment of what Gunn has already called a trilogy; with nothing but uncertainty and speculation surrounding what could come from what is likely to be an emotional finale.
With rumors and theories gathering as to what fans could find in the third installment, recently released Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 set photos tease a very important planet in the comic book canon; and something that could point to what lies within the film.

Set photos have surfaced recently that depicts what looks like human-animal hybrids dressed in a kind of 1990’s aesthetic, a development that could point to the presence of Counter-Earth, and ultimately the High Evolutionary.
Long rumored to be the main villain of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, High Evolutionary’s Counter-Earth is the home of his many evolutionary experiments; with Rocket Racoon being one of them.
It is likely that the Guardians could be confronting Rocket’s creator in a very emotional conclusion to the team’s trilogy series.
