‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Reportedly Impacted the Illuminati in ‘Doctor Strange 2’
With the film uncovering the MCU collective that watches over the Multiverse, it turns out that another sequel may have impacted its members, as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever reportedly impacted the Illuminati in Doctor Strange 2.
Dominating the box office in its second week, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has proven to be a massive success for Marvel Studios, as the newest MCU Adventure is already one of the performers of the pandemic era.
Following Doctor Strange on a mind-bending journey that would see him confront the unknown enemies lurking within alternate realities, the film brought the MCU’s resident sorcerer face to face with some of the most powerful beings across the multiverse.
The film was terrifying, and established the true unknown of the multiverse, with one of the best scenes in the entire movie introducing the Marvel collective that oversees all of the happenings of the delicate interdimensional segment.
AS it turns out, Marvel did have some difficulty finalizing the lineup that made up those collective, with recent reports suggesting that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever impacted the Illuminati in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
In a recent interview with Variety, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness writer, Michael Waldron discussed the team; while being asked specifically about the character of Namor, a common member throughout the source material.
Waldron stated, “[We] talked about him, because he’s certainly an original member of the Illuminati. But I think Marvel has other plans for him in the MCU. And so he didn’t make his way in this particular movie.”
Waldron elaborated, “That’s kind of a combination of us putting forth, ‘Well what if we did this?’ But also, Kevins is as excited about this stuff as we are, so sometimes those ideas are coming from Kevin saying, ‘Well, what if we got so and so? I’m gonna do it! I’m gonna make the call!'”
It is interesting to consider that the creative team behind the movie originally wanted Namor, but with it being rumored that Namor will be present as the main antagonist in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it makes sense for the MCU to hold off on his eventual debut.
