‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Runtime Reportedly Surfaces
The highly anticipated next film in the summer slate for the Marvel Cinematic Universe has just made a lot of fans nervous, as the Thor: Love and Thunder runtime reportedly surfaces.
There is no denying the expectation that surrounds the long-awaited fourth solo film for one of the MCU’s most important and most beloved characters.
Thor has developed what is an incredibly unique relationship with MCU fans, becoming a fan favorite due to his incredible growth over his decade-plus long run in the Marvel Universe.
His evolution and metamorphosis from spoiled prince to a reflective hero have been one of the more intriguing of the entire MCU, and he had consistently been a presence in the Marvel Universe that has evolved through some of the more tragic elements the Marvel Universe has ever explored.
His bouts with depression and failure have defined this new incarnation of Thor; born in Thor: Ragnarok, and explored more thoroughly in Avengers: Endgame, he has never ceased to be interesting and introspective, while maintaining very unique humor that has defined his character.
With the newest installation of the character’s saga setting to arrive at audiences this summer, a new development has made a lot of MCU fans nervous, as the Thor: Love and Thunder runtime reportedly surfaces, and it sets the film up to be one of the shorter films in the MCU.
As reported by CBR.com, the film is rumored to total 115 minutes, or a meek 1 hour and 55 minutes; which does not bode well for the excitement of audiences.
The reported runtime would make it among the shortest films in the MCU, with only Thor: The Dark World, and The incredible Hulk shorter.
Although the concern is understandable considering fans are incredibly excited about the movie, contextually, it doesn’t seem like a sign of concern.
The original Thor film had the exact same runtime, as did the original Doctor Strange; with Ant-Man only clocking in at three minutes long, and The beloved Thor: Ragnarok only beating this by 15 minutes.
The length of a film shouldn’t be a deterrent from its quality, and if Taika Waititi has taught Marvel fans anything, it’s that he understands this new Thor, and he can be trusted to continue his story.
