‘Ms. Marvel’ Director Talks Marvel Podcasts and Potential MCU Cameos
The series’ first two episodes have brought forth one of the most delightful Marvel projects in recent memory, as Ms. Marvel director Adil El- Arbi talks about Marvel podcasts and potential MCU cameos.
Although the highly-anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe arrival of Kamala Khan is only two episodes in, it is completely fair to call it one of the most endearing and immensely charming projects that Marvel has developed for Disney+ thus far.
It may not have the darker-toned emotional resonance that comes from something like Moon Knight or WandaVision, but it is a series that is overflowing with creativity, vibrance, and heart.
Two episodes in, and Ms. Marvel director Adil El-Arbi is already talking about expanding the series in Marvel podcasts and what potential MCU cameos could be in store for the Iman Vellani-starring series.
In the first episode of the series, El-Arbi introduced an in-universe podcast done by Scott Lang that served as the source for a lot of the knowledge that Kamala Khan- and every MCU resident- has about various MCU events.
He recently spoke about the desire to bring that idea to life, stating, “I’m desperate to listen to this podcast and desperate to make it. Like, why shouldn’t the MCU expand into podcasting? Like fiction podcast? I mean, Paul Rudd what’s up? Let’s do it.”
El-Arbi added (still speaking to Rudd), “I’ll write it, you just sit in a booth. It’ll be a good time. I would love to hear it. and also because- I don’t know, it cant be for everyone, but for me, podcasts are my relaxed space.
“Like, I’m obsessed with podcasts.” the director continued, “So yeah, I can see Kamala just sitting around listening to it all the time. I’d love to make it.”
El-Arbi was also asked if there were any other planned MCU cameos for the series that fans can look forward to, to which he stated, “We will not confirm nor deny the presence of any cameos in the show.”
We can almost guarantee that this means Kamala will run into some kind of Marvel hero during her series… at least we can hope.
