Kotobukiya Brings Classic Thor to Life With Bronze Age Thor Statue!
Thor: Love and Thunder is sweeping theatres with fans absolutely loving the film. Japanese-based figure company Kotobukiya is showing some additional Thor love with an amazing new Bronze age Thor statue!

Kotobukiya’s latest Marvel figure brings the visage of classic thor to statue form. As part of Kotobukiya’s ARTFX line, this statue perfectly mirrors Thor’s appearance as seen in Journey into Mystery Volume 1 #83. First drawn by legendary comic book artist Jack Kirby and formally created by Stan Lee and Larry Lieber.
Thor’s armor and appearance in Journey into Mystery #83 would stay with him through most of the Bronze Age of comics through the 1970s and 1980s. It wouldn’t be until the late 1980s when Thor’s armor and design would undergo changes differing from his classic look.

The Thor statue stands at over 13 inches tall, created using 3D sculpting technology, the statue is truly remarkable. The shading adorning Thor’s skin is immaculate, with dynamic flesh tones allowing Thor to straddle the line between a comic rendition and real life.
Vibrant colors illuminate Thor’s armor bringing back the solid colors of the classic comics. Thor’s boots with bandaged straps flow from Thor’s knee down. The 6 trademark metallic emblems seen on many of Thor’s appearances gleam in silver. Finally, Thor’s cape is done in a beautiful red with shading throughout.

Additional details include the legendary phrase so often synonymous with Thor “Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor”, etched into the side of Mjolnir. Bringing the whole classic piece straight from the comic books.
