‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Trailer Gives First Look at Riri Williams
She is easily among the most anticipated arrivals of the MCU’s Phase Four slate and the highly-anticipated sequel film, and with the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer arriving, fans have been given their first official look at Riri Williams.
Since rumors began to swirl about the character’s involvement in the story of the film, and with the confirmation that Ironheart was being adapted into its very own Disney+ series, fans have been clamoring for their first look at the iconic Marvel hero, Riri Williams.
There were plenty of questions surrounding just how the Marvel Cinematic Universe would address the character who attends MIT in the source material, but it seems as though her backstory will be changed to give her a greater connection to the nation of Wakanda, and the Black Panther franchise.
With Marvel’s triumphant return to Hall H, and the presence of their first Mega Panel in two years, there was a lot of excitement surrounding the possibility that the upcoming Black Panther sequel could be shown off; with many hoping for some kind of trailer.
Marvel fans certainly got their wish, as the SDCC return for Marvel featured a Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer that gave audiences their first look at Riri Williams, and hinted at her eventual transformation into the hero known as Ironheart.
The character appeared to be very friendly with Shuri, the sister of the Black Panther himself, T’Challa and was then shown in a scene that would be instantly recognizable to any MCU fan that has been around since the beginning.
The scene in question showed Williams hammering away at something in a white tank top; a sequence that is nearly a shot-for-shot remake of the now iconic moment of Tony Stark hammering away at the Mark 1 suit that would help him escape captivity.
It will be interesting to continue to try and catch the similarities in the story of both characters and see how Riri is inspired by Starks’s work as a genius, and a superhero, to fully embrace the Ironheart persona.
