‘What If….’ Season 2 Announced at SDCC for Early 2023!

San Diego Comic-Con has been a whirlwind of amazing announcements for Marvel Studios! Now ‘What If…’ Season 2 has been announced to stream on Disney+ in early 2023!

The first season of ‘What If…’ was a bizarre yet wonderful journey through the Marvel multiverse, allowing audiences to view various scenarios in which situations, characters, and events had been different from those of the original timeline. Narrated by Uatu The Watcher, many unique stories were derived from these alternate timelines.

Perhaps the three most beloved character stories were that of Captain America Peggy Carter from an alternate universe where Peggy Carter received the super soldier serum, Strange Supreme who turned to the dark underside of magic to gain power, and Star-Lord T’challa who was taken by Yondu instead of Peter Quill.

These weren’t the only interesting alternate universe hijinks, still yet was a Hank Pym that assassinated the Avengers, an Ultron that defeated Thanos to gather the infinity stones, and even a universe filled with Marvel zombies!

Some of the characters present in Season 1 of “What if…” would even go on to star in the MCU! Peggy Carter as Captain America would appear in Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness as a member of the Illuminati that attempts to stop Wanda from taking America Chavez.

Looking back at these wonderful fantastical stories has us incredibly intrigued for what is next to come now that ‘What If…’ season 2 has been announced! Not only will new Marvel stories and characters have debuted since the first season, such as Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel, but even more are set to be revealed!

‘What if…’ season 2 has a release set for early 2023 and those attending SDCC note that footage viewed at SDCC showed Captain America Peggy Carter will be returning along with Peggy universe Steve Rogers! Further, an episode based on the universe of the comic run 1602 will appear with some Elizabethan-era Marvel heroes!

Further footage featuring Odin facing off against Shang-Chi and his allies was seen, as well as a racing episode featuring Valkyrie and Iron Man! These reports have our heads spinning! We cannot wait to see ‘What if…’ Season 2!!!
