Funko Reveals Closer Look at Walmart Exclusive Drax

Since their debut in the MCU the Guardians of the Galaxy have- rightfully- been one of the most popular entities in the current film landscape, and to celebrate that Funko is releasing every Guardian in signature POP! form, first giving a closer look at the upcoming Walmart exclusive Drax.

When James Gunn was first announced to be the mastermind behind the impending Guardians of the Galaxy film, there was a very apparent curiosity omitting from Marvel fans everywhere; as this truly represented the first huge risk that Marvel Studios would ever take.

The entire MCU had been a risk at that point but were Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and the subsequent Avengers film feeling like a calculated one, Guardians felt more akin to a hail mary in overtime with the clock set to expire.

But as the Marvel Cinematic Universe has proven time and time again, this was a risk that was set to pay off, as James Gunn didn’t just hit it out of the park with the debut of his rag-tag collection of intergalactic bounty hunters, he created a cult classic.

The Guardians of the Galaxy represent a lot of what Marvel’s cosmic realm has come to, with the same aesthetic and comedic touch that has come in films like Avengers: Infinity War and Thor: Ragnarok, with characters that are undeniably endearing.

The figure shows a sleeping Drax, as he has been seen several times in the film, and perfectly encapsulates the finer details of the character while still holding close to the stylistic foundations of the Funko POP! Figure.
