Chadwick Boseman’s Wife Talks Being “Honored” Accepting Emmy
He has been one of the most important people in Marvel’s illustrious history in the MCU and with his work delivered to fans up until his passing thanks to his role on What If…? he has taken home one final award, as Chadwick Boseman’s wife talks being “honored” to accept Emmy on her late husband’s behalf.
We have discussed at length the tremendous impact and reverence that we have for the work and commitment of one Chadwick Boseman, and there is no denying that in the massive pantheon of people who grew to be vital to the MCU from their entrance into it, his name may be at the top of that list.
Noone brought as much to the universe in as short an amount of time as Boseman did, bringing the iconic hero of T’Challa to some of the biggest Marvel crossover film events in Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Captain America: Civil War, as well as his own Academy Award-nominated Black Panther.
But despite his tragic passing, and the toll that his illness took on him in his later years, the iconic hero still took on one more role in the MCU, one that he has just been awarded posthumously for; and a moment that Chadwick Boseman’s wife, Taylor Simone Ledward, talks being “honored” to accept.
As reported by ComicBook.com, Boseman’s wife stated,
“When I learned Chad was nominated, I started thinking of everything that was going on in the world and our world and being so in awe of his commitment and dedication and what a beautiful moment that one of the last things he would work on was something so important to him and to the world but also something new.”
Simone Ledward continued, adding, “You can’t understand your purpose unless you as What if? What if the universe is conspiring in my favor? What if it’s me? Chad would be so honored and I am honored on his behalf.”
It was a brilliant moment, and an immensely earned award, as Chadwick Boseman truly brought the iconic hero of T’Challa to life one last time, in the most beautiful and brilliant of ways.
