Tim Blake Nelson Talks Returning to the MCU
It was one of the surprising developments of the D23 convention, that The Leader will be in Captain America: New World Order, as Tim Blake Nelson, talked about returning to the MCU.
There was no shortage of massive updates that came out of the highly-anticipated D23 convention this month in Anaheim California, where all of the massive brands, studios, and companies took to the stage to share with fans what they can expect for the coming year.
With massive studios like Lucasfilm, Pixar, and Walt Disney Pictures present, there may not have been a bigger announcement panel than the one that was held by Marvel Studios.
So much was discussed and shared by Marvel in the realm of their Disney+ projects, theatrical releases, and even in their ventures in the world of video games and their Disneyland theme park Avengers Campus.
But the biggest announcement was easily involved in their various MCU titles, with so many developments happening around their various Disney+ series and films that are primed to carry the MArvel Univers well into Phase Five.
One of the most interesting developments surrounding the upcoming Captain America: New World Order, which has been confirmed to see the return of The Leader, is Tim Blake Nelson has recently spoken about returning to the MCU while on the stage at D23.
According to The Direct, speaking to attendees, Nelson stated, “I’m delighted. Marvel is part of cinema history and that I get to be a part of that is an absolute honor thank you for sticking with The Leader.”
Nelson famously played Sam Sterns in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, long before the MCU had really become what it is today, and despite plans for sequel HUlk films, nothing really materialized following The Avenger in 2012.
It will be incredibly interesting to see what Marvel does with The Leader in the upcoming Captain America film, and whether or not Tim Blake Nelson will be playing a fully formed villain.
