‘She/Hulk’ Writer Jessica Gao Talks Charlie Cox and Daredevil
It was one of the most exciting parts of the series, with Episdoe 8 seeing his fateful return to the MCU; with the character arriving, She/Hulk writer Jessica Gao talks about Charlie Cox and Daredevil.
Ever since that very first real She/Hulk trailer arrived, fans had been spectating the return of one of Marvel’s most beloved heroes.
Phase Four had been riddled with moments that hinted at Matt Murdock’s renewed involvement with the MCU after the cancelation of his Netflix series, and it was the latest disney+ series that was set to be the first real return for the hero.
Fans anxiously awaited the character’s return, and after 8 weeks it finally happened, when Jennifer Walters and Matt Murdock would team up in an episode that was solely focused on their dynamic.
With that appearance finally arriving, Speaking to Collider, She/Hulk writer Jessica Gao discussed Charlie Cox and Daredevil, and why this version of the character- as different as it may be was the perfect match.
Gao stated, “he has such reverence and love for that character. It’s clear that the character meant so much to him, but he also came very game to play around.”
The writer added, “He was totally up for more funny banter and having this fun dynamic with Jen and She-Hulk.”
It really feels like the character from the comics.” Gao continued, “It was so fun because he really does fit into the show so perfectly. They’re both lawyers, and they’re both superheroes. Who else can say that they have that in common?”
Gao concluded, “It was just very fun thinking about what their dynamics would be, based on the personalities of these two characters.”
