Final Fox Marvel Film ‘New Mutants’ Officially Arrived on Disney+
There is no denying the importance of what Fox did for the perception and reception of comic book adaptations from mainstream audiences, and following the merger that took headlines, the final Fox Marvel film, New Mutants, has officially arrived on Disney+.
Long before the Marvel Cinematic Universe had the power over the industry that it currently possesses, comic book movie had a terrible track record in how it was perceived and received by film fans; known more for how terrible they were, than anything else.
They were films that were overloaded with campiness and were often delivered toa audiences with very low-quality productions that made them feel like more of a joke than a serious film endeavor.
All of that changed with the 2000s arrival of Spider-MAn, and the X-Men, the latter of which would kick off over a decade of Marvel films from Fox that would slowly shift how those films were perceived by viewers, and create a proof of concept that would be the MCU on their current path.
That era was a rather interesting one for comic book adaptation, and with the merger bringing Fox under the Disney umbrella, the final Fox Marvel film, New Mutants, has officially arrived on Disney+.
New Mutants was the final hoorah for Fox, and despite its best attempts to rejuvenate the franchise with its risk-taking and contrast in style, it wasn’t able to succeed; but still left fans with an interesting stories that adapts one of Marvel’s more underrated teams.
