Marvel Reveals Disney+ Premiere Dates For THREE Animated Series
With the conclusion of Agatha All Along this week, Marvel fans will have to wait a while for the next live-action Marvel series to arrive on Disney+.
Though the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is slowing down its release schedule (for a few months at least), Marvel Animation is just about ready to ramp things up. This December, the fan-favorite animated series What If…? will come to an end with the conclusion of Season 3.
According to a new report from Nexus Point News, 2025 will be a banner year in Marvel Animation, with the release of three different series.
‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’
The year will kick off when Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man premieres on January 29, 2025.
The animated series will follow Peter Parker’s adventures in high school. However, this will not be the same version of the character played by Tom Holland on the MCU’s Sacred Timeline.
Instead of meeting Tony Stark and being offered the Stark internship, this Peter comes into contact with Norman Osborne, who takes him under his wing.
‘Eyes of Wakanda’
The second new Marvel Animation release of 2025 will be Eyes of Wakanda, which is scheduled to hit Disney+ on August 6, 2025.
Set on the MCU’s Sacred Timeline, the series will tell the story of Wakandan warriors who must venture out into the world and retrieve vibranium artifacts.
“Throughout Wakandan history, brave warriors have been tasked to travel the world retrieving dangerous vibranium artifacts. This is their story,” the official description reads.
‘Marvel Zombies’
Last but certainly not least, we have Marvel Zombies. Set to debut on Disney+ next October (just in time for Halloween), the What If…? spinoff will be Marvel’s first animated series to be rated TV-MA.
The series will dive deeper into an alternate universe where Marvel’s heroes have been infected with a deadly virus.
“In terms of more mature animation, yeah. We’re making a Marvel Zombies show right now that is pretty intense that’s for sure a TV-MA show,” Marvel’s Head of Animation, Brad Winderbaum, explained.
“And again, it’s trying to honor the comics. And what was so great about the comics was it not pulling its punches. That’s certainly what we’re going for on that project also.”
2025 Could Be a Banner Year For Marvel
In addition to the aforementioned animated series, Marvel is also set to release Daredevil: Born Again on March 4, 2025, Wonder Man in December 2025, and, theoretically, Ironheart.
2025 looks like it will be a massive year in streaming for Marvel and its fans.
