Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and Shawn Levy Are Set to Reunite in New Film
Just months after the historic release of Deadpool & Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Shawn Levy are gearing up for their next adventure.
However, after proving their unmatched chemistry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the triumvirate will now expand their horizons.
In a recent interview with Variety, Reynolds revealed his 2025 plans.
“I’m spending the year writing,” Reynolds said. “I’m writing a movie for myself, Hugh, and Shawn to do that is not Marvel.”
After delivering the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time, it makes sense that Reynolds, Jackman, and Levy would want to recreate the magic. The fact that the trio also happens to be best friends is the cherry on top.
Will Reynolds and Jackman Return to the MCU?
While Reynolds made it clear that the film he is writing next will not be a Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) installment, it would be shocking if we don’t see Deadpool and Wolverine together again on screen.
Jackman and Reynolds will almost surely be included in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Infinity Wars.
The more interesting question, however, is whether or not there will be a fourth Deadpool installment.
After Deadpool & Wolverine grossed over $1 billion at the box office, Disney would seemingly be crazy not to push for a fourth film.
Getting the Band Back Together
If Deadpool 4 were to come to fruition, Levy would clearly be the director of choice. Previously, Reynolds noted that he would not have returned for Deadpool and Wolverine if Levy was not at the helm.
While Marvel fans wait to see what happens next for Deadpool & Wolverine, they can take solace in the fact that Reynolds, Jackman, and Levy have another project in the works.
