Rob Liefeld Shares More Insight Into Fox’s Scrapped X-Force Film
After the historic success of the first Deadpool film, the Merc With the Mouth was well-positioned to be Fox’s next big Marvel star.

In addition to a standalone sequel to Deadpool, Fox began developing an X-Force film that would hopefully lead to a trilogy.
As development on the film languished, Fox shifted its focus to Deadpool 2.
X-Force Debuts in ‘Deadpool 2’
The second Deadpool film would eventually include the debut of X-Force, which was comprised of Domino (Zazie Beetz), Bedlam, Shatterstar, Zeitgeist, Vanisher, and Peter.

Quickly, however, all of the members besides Domino were killed.
That was the last we saw of the iconic team.

At that time, however, Daredevil creator Drew Goddard began working on his own plans for an X-Force film.
Now, we have more insight into those plans.
Josh Brolin Would Have Played Stryfe
In a recent interview with The Direct, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld reflected on the potential X-Force movies.

As he explained, Brolin would have starred in the film as both Cable and the villainous Stryfe.
“I think I think it’s safe to say, Josh [Brolin] was really excited, because he signed a multi-picture deal, and he was excited about the prospect of not only playing Cable, but longtime fans of X-Force know that he would have been portraying Stryfe as well,” he said.

While the introduction of X-Force and, particularly, Stryfe would have been exciting for fans, the plans fell through when Disney bought Fox.
“The X-Force movie that was going to be coming to screen that Fox had planned before Disney bought the Fox catalog; he was absolutely in that movie,” Liefeld explained.

“Spoiler alert! It would have been great… There were, at one point, discussions about him being in an after-credits scene in ‘Deadpool 2’, but they struck that.”
