Marvel Comics’ X-Men and Transformers Team-Up
Marvel Comics has teamed up once again with the toy manufacturer Hasbro. This time, it is to bring you a line of Transformers Collaborative mash-up toys. As a special treat for bibliophiles, many of the X-Men and Transformers crossover toys may also come with accompanying comic books! Recently, the toymaker announced the Transformers Generations Collaborative: Marvel Comics X-Men Mash-Up: Ultimate X-Spanse, which will be available for purchase on approximately March 1, 2021.

Transformers: Revenge of the X-Jet
The iconic X-Jet in X-Men: The Animated Series inspired the toy designers of the Ultimate X-Spanse Transformer, as the robot’s color scheme comes straight from the cartoon. The beloved X-Men animated cartoon debuted on Halloween of 1992 on the Fox Kids Network, and it ran for 76 episodes. For many fans, it is the most definitive take on the X-Men.
In an interview with Marvel, the series showrunner Eric Lewald said, “The ratings we got told us that there were some Saturdays that over half of the televisions in the U.S. were watching our show. And that’s just such a weird, huge thing.”

According to the Hasbro website, the toy stands 8.5 inches tall, and it includes:
This figure converts into a licensed Lockheed Martin jet in 34 steps and features deco and details inspired by the X-Men animated series. This figure comes with Wolverine and Sabretooth mini-figures that can ride on [the] figure in both modes and three energy blast effects: claw and slash effects to attach to figure’s hands in robot mode and an aura effect to attach around Wolverine mini figure.
Also taking from animated X-Men series, the packaging for the X-Men and Transformers collaborative toy is inspired by the classic Marvel toys from the 90s.
