Michelle Pfeiffer Returning in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Details about the third movie in the Ant-Man trilogy were revealed by the President and Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, yesterday at Disney Investor Day 2020, and we finally have a title for the upcoming movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Several details about the next chapter in the Ant-Man saga, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, have been revealed, including information about the cast and villain.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
First, a quick recap of what we already knew about Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania…
In April 2020, Marvel Studios’ revealed that Jeff Loveness would be writing the script. Loveness has experience with comedic science-fiction thanks to his work on Cartoon Network’s Rick and Morty, and lest you doubt his credentials, his work on the television script for “The Vat of Acid Episode” earned him an Emmy Award in 2013.
Plus, director Peyton Reed will be returning to direct the third Ant-Man movie.
Reed directed both 2015’s Ant-Man and 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, so he’s probably getting a pretty good feel for the characters by now. And if you still aren’t sure if he can handle heroes in suits and giant insects, then check out the second episode of the second season of The Mandalorian, which Reed also directed.
Who’s Returning for the Next Ant-Man Movie?
As far as casting goes, four actors are reprising their roles. Paul Rudd will be returning as Scott Lang (A.K.A. Ant-Man). Evangeline Lilly will be returning as Hope Van Dyne (A.K.A. The Wasp).
Michael Douglas will also be returning to the role of Hank Pym. And Michelle Pfeiffer will be back as Janet Van Dyne.
And it isn’t just returning actors revealed yesterday, more plot details were revealed too about Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania! Although there was no word on that Ghost storyline we have all been waiting for, other details about the movie were revealed.
It looks like the villain for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will be Kang the Conquerer, played by Jonathan Majors. Meanwhile, the heroes will see their roster expand as well, with Kathryn Newton joining the cast of Quantumania as Cassie Lang – who is Scott’s daughter in the comics, and a member of the New Avengers in the comics, alongside Kate Bishop and Billy Kaplan.
