Pizza Dog Instagram Jolt of Genius
#TeamPizzaDog fans rejoice! Hawkeye‘s Lucky the Pizza Dog has her own Instagram account, and the adorable account is a jolt of genius!
Hawkeye fans of all sorts and species – me included – have been anxiously swiping through the slew of leaked set photos in anticipation of the upcoming series on Disney+, starring Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton) and Hailee Steinfeld (Kate Bishop).
And, now, we have at least one new celebrity to follow – the furry companion (and her stunt double) of our two vigilante archers. While Lucky’s Instagram account – real name Jolt – hasn’t been kept secret, the dog’s handler, Jacqui Johnson, has been coy about her dogs’ starring roles in Hawkeye, according to CBR. com.
This Way to Pizza! Who Are Jolt?
Jolt is an award-winning three-year-old canine (and her stunt double sister), repped by Animal Casting Atlanta. The immensely talented Golden Retriever’s titles include The North America Diving Dogs Dock Junior, The American Kennel Club Dock Junior, The American Kennel Club Trick Dog Novice and Trick Dog Intermediate, and The American Kennel Club Achiever Dog.
Trick dogs and their handlers are well versed in bringing entertainment to others in a way that is safe for both the animal and people on set.
Lucky’s Jolt of Genius
Lucky’s handler (in a true stroke of genius) started a social media account to give fans a dog’s eye view into the making of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We’ve already seen what it’s like for a four-legged feline. So make way for the dogs!
On December 1, 2020 – right before Hawkeye started filming – the handler posted a photo of Jolt with her stunt double sister with the Friends-inspired caption, “The one where they go to New York.”
On December 7, 2020, #TeamPizzaDog fans learned that Jolt is a true method actor.
To officially announce her role as Pizza Dog, the cute pup asked for some greasy NY slices this holiday season, saying, “Dear Santa, I’d like a whole pizza to myself for Christmas… maybe two 🙏🏻🍕 #christmaswishes#iwouldbesolucky.” I think she’s been a good girl, don’t you?
And seven days ago, the furriest actor on set posted the most adorable message for her co-star, Hailee Steinfeld, on the actress’s 24th birthday on Friday, December 11, 2020. As the ever good girl she is, Jolt posted, “Happy barkday to @haileesteinfeld! #partnerincrime.”
Jolt finally got LUCKY! The Golden Retriever got the pizza she deserves five days ago, and she posted about the much anticipated occasion on her social media page.
On Jolt’s Instagram account, she posted a photo of herself after she ate a whole pizza. And right through the pizza box itself! The post read, “Am I doing this right? #pizzadog #butwhyisthepizzagone.”
On December 14, 2020, Hawkeye fanatics learned from Jolt’s account that the series set location was moving to Georgia. The Instagram post said, “Goodnight New York! To the 🍑 state we go! #doesATLhavepizza.” Marvel Studios frequently films projects in Georgia… could we be so Lucky as to have a crossover in the cards?
Hawkeye #11 and Pizza Dog
Because the Jolt pictures are just amazing, yesterday she asked her handler, “Will you read me a story? #autobiography #hawkeye.”
In 2013’s Hawkeye #11 by Matt Fraction (writer), David Aja (penciler), and Matt Hollingsworth (colorist), readers learned that Lucky might just prefer one Hawkeye over the other Hawkeye.
The iconic issue is told entirely from Pizza Dog’s perspective, and thus, is drawn in a limited blue, yellow, and gray color palette visible to dogs who have only 20% of the cone photoreceptors in their eyes.
Jolt’s Instagram is now a way to follow a dog’s eye view into the filming process. What type of pizza do you want to see Pizza Dog eat next? Let MarvelBlog know in the comments section below!
