It’s usual for big companies, like Marvel Studios, to unveil first-look trailers during the BIG GAME. So when no brand new trailer for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings or Eternals was released yesterday, many Marvel fans were disappointed. And rightfully so. This reporter was also disappointed. But have no fear, it seems the Shang-Chi teaser is coming sooner rather than later, according to star Simu Liu.
The Legend of the Shang-Chi Trailer

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will introduce Shang-Chi himself to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
First appearing in 1973’s Special Marvel Edition #15 by Steve Englehart (writer), Jim Starlin (artist), Al Milgrom (inker), and Tom Orzechowski (letterer), the master of the martial arts was introduced in a less-than-ideal fashion.
Shang-Chi is raised on an isolated compound in his comic origin story. He is trained by his father Fu Manchu, a crime lord and immortal sorcerer, to take over the family business. Yet, he doesn’t want to, and becomes a hero instead. However, we already know that Marvel Studios is making some changes to this origin story.
Simu Liu: The Real Master of Representation
Shang-Chi’s original adversary, Fu Manchu, will be replaced in the upcoming movie with some new villains. And rightfully so. It’s already been reported on that Marvel Studios is reintroducing The Mandarin, played by Tony Leung Chiu-wai this time, and Razor Fist, played by pro-wrestler Florian Munteanu, in the Shang-Chi movie to replace Fu Manchu.
According to Screen Rant, Fu Manchu can be traced back to the 1910s novels by Saxon Rohmer, and the adaptive films they spawned, depicting the character as the embodiment of “yellow peril,” which is the centuries old racist fear that Asian cultures threaten Western civilization. After Marvel Comics lost the rights to the Fu Manchu name, the character was renamed, but his xenophobic origins remained.
Destin Daniel Cretton directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and the script is written by David Callaham. In addition to Liu, Leung, and Munteanu, the film will star Awkwafina as Katy, Ronny Chieng as Jon Jon, and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan.
