Marvel Studios: Legends Falcon & Winter Soldier
Well, WandaVision devotees, all nine episodes of the first Marvel Cinematic Universe series for Disney+ have been released for streaming, which is bittersweet, to be certain. But parting is such sweet sorrow when you have even more Marvel in the offing! And to help you prepare for the next show, the Marvel Studios: Legends episodes for Falcon and the Winter Solider have been released.
Brace yourselves, Marvelites: the age of Disney+ has begun!
Marvel Studios: Legends: Catching Up on the Heroes
The Marvel Studios: Legends episodes help remind you about all the adventures individual MCU heroes have engaged in over the course of the Infinity Saga by combining the character’s most iconic moments into brief, multi-minute clips.
First released in advance of WandaVision, episodes for both Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) were aired to show the history of Marvel’s odd couple.
Now, two more episodes have been added: Falcon, A.K.A. Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and The Winter Solider, A.K.A. Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) both had episodes added recounting their journey to the present day in the MCU.
While these episodes do not include any new material, they are definitely worth watching, as they highlight some very cool things about each character’s arc. For example, the fact that Falcon was introduced when Steve ran past him in The Winter Solider, saying “on your left,” and Falcon’s arc in the Infinity Saga circles around to when he appears in Avengers: Endgame and says, “on your left” to Steve, a narrative device hinting at the eventual passing of the torch of Sam Wilson’s Captain America.
If that pattern continues, we can expect new episodes for Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in advance of the Disney+ series Loki on Friday, June 11th, 2021… and who knows which characters might be featured in episodes of Marvel Studios: Legends before the premiere of What If…?
Well, since we know that both T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) appear in the animated show, there’s some pretty exciting possibilities!
On to the Next Show!
In spite of a delay caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ll finally be seeing The Falcon and the Winter Solider in just a few weeks, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. We can’t wait to see what that staring contest is all about…
Is it possible that we might see Agent Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) or the FBI’s mysterious missing person in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier? Will the Vision who was Ship of Theseus’d end up facing off against Baron Zemo? We’ll find out when the first episode of the show debuts for streaming on Disney+ on March 19th, 2021.
