MOON KNIGHT: Oscar Isaac Shows Off Fighting Style
Mad Gene Media, a New York based production company founded by Oscar Isaac and Elvira Lind, posted a training video demonstrating that the actor has honed his mad fighting skills for his unconfirmed role in Moon Knight on Disney+.
Oscar Isaac’s Left Hook
Isaac moves like a true Marvel, uh, protagonist, in the new stunt training video for his upcoming role in Moon Knight posted by Mad Gene Media on Instagram, with a caption reading: “Currently out of the office. #TheOneYouSeeComing.”

The hashtag is a reference to a line from the Marvel Comics series about the titular hero. In 2014’s Moon Knight #5 by Warren Ellis, Declan Shalvey, Jordie Bellaire, and Chris Eliopoulos, in a fight scene, the character says, “The one you see coming.”
If you ask this writer, the fight choreography is also inspired by the way sequential art moves action through a page – can fans look forward to a redo of that amazing fight choreography from the hallway scene in Netflix’s Daredevil season one?
Moon Knight Training Video
Isaac isn’t the only person featured in the video. The post also tagged Madonna’s lead dancer and actor Loic Mabanza (The Kitchen), fitness expert and trainer Joshua J. Holland, Gaga teacher Or Meir Schraiber, former dancer and Brooklyn Zoo owner Geronimo Frias, and musician Mike Hernandez.
In the training video, Isaac jabs at Frias before he pops him with an upper cut to the gut and a flying armbar, bringing Frias to the floor. Then, on the sidelines of the Instagram clip, Holland and Mabanza seem to either be filming or standing in for stunt doubles (since both of them have worked in the entertainment industry, they might appear on screen when Moon Knight finally airs).
Folks, the inclusion of flying armbar martial arts move is really exciting! The flying armbar, or the jūji-gatame, is a Judo technique used in grappling martial arts. In the comics, Spector is a former heavyweight boxing champion who’s trained in unarmed combat styles like Judo, so he probably knows this flying armbar is been banned…
Oscar Isaac Coming to Disney+?
Details surrounding Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight are slim, but the show is slated to start production soon, and will premiere sometime in 2022 after the She-Hulk series. Although Isaac hasn’t been officially confirmed by Disney or Marvel Studios as Marc Spector, the secret is all but out, even Marvel boss Kevin Feige inadvertently confirmed it, which you can read more about here at Marvel Blog.
Moon Knight will be directed by Mohamed Diab, Justin Benson, and Aaron Moorhead, and it’s written by Jeremy Slater.
