Is There a Vision Series in the Works?
According to an inside source*, it sure sounds like Vision may be getting his own Disney+ series!
Reportedly in development at Marvel Studios, a series about Vision will give fans a look at what happens to the beloved character after the events of WandaVision.
What Will the Series Be About?
*WandaVision spoilers follow!*
The last episode of WandaVision left Vision’s fate unclear. We understand that Wanda Maximoff created her husband, Vision, based on her memories of him. We also know that Vision’s physical remains were reworked and reanimated, to be used as an emotionless weapon for S.W.O.R.D.
However, during a pivotal scene of the series’ last episode, the “magic” version of Vision unlocked the memory data in the original, now “White Vision.” After recalling his prior life, White Vision flies away and that is the last we see of him.
We assume the new series will pick up Vision’s story where it left off in WandaVision. One may further ascertain that the series will dive into how White Vision takes the knowledge that restores his memory bank to find himself again.
Why Vision?
Vision has become a fan favorite of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Over the years, we have seen the synthezoid undergo huge changes. He began as Iron Man’s artificial intelligence, Jarvis, and morphed into human-like form as Vision, before ultimately succumbing to Thanos in Infinity War. We met him once again in WandaVision, both as a magical manifestation of himself and a reworked version known as White Vision.
As Vision’s versions have multiplied, so too has fan admiration for the character. While Vision, played by Paul Bettany, has been an important supporting character in several MCU films, he has never been a lead character in his own right. A Vision series would afford the character his first starring role.
What About Timing?
It’s unclear when the series would be released. Disney+ has a long lineup of Marvel Cinematic Universe series in development and on its schedule. That being said, it sounds like executives at the two media conglomerates understand the popularity of the Vision character and want to expand upon it.
We at MarvelBlog are certainly excited by the possibility! Are you?
