BLACK PANTHER 2 to Shoot in Massachusetts
In an article from Boston.com (that is definitely totally unbiased), it was revealed that one of the many, many big-time Hollywood movie productions set to film in Massachusetts is the highly anticipated upcoming Black Panther (2018) sequel, Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever.
Scouting in Boston
The article reports that in June, film crews visited Worcester, a city in Central Massachusetts, to scout for filming locations for a chase scene that will take place in the upcoming movie. While the specific location for filming the scene is not currently known, production is expected to take place in late August.
Meanwhile, the majority of the production on the sequel will take place at Marvel’s main production hub in Atlanta, Georgia.
According to the article, the news was all but confirmed by Edgar Luna, who is responsible for organizing movie productions that take place in Worcester. While Luna could not actually name the production, he offered context clues that eliminated any other possibilities (although we kind of have to wonder how Marvel Studios feels about this one, Marvel Blog True Believers… if you’re not supposed to name the movie, how is making it obvious what movie it is any different).
Luna said that the movie was a major Disney production, and a sequel to a 2018 that filmed in Korea and Georgia. All of this data comports with the Black Panther 2 speculation, but Luna didn’t return Boston.com’s request for comment… maybe he really wasn’t supposed to say all that!
Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is scheduled for release on July 8th, 2022. Plenty of rumors have already arisen surrounding the production, including the theory that Namor will appear.
