Venom: Let There Be Carnage
Venom: Let There Be Carnage is the sequel to 2018’s Venom.
For the sequel, Tom Hardy is returning as Eddie Brock, the host for the ravenous symbiote. Directed by Andy Serkis, the film also stars Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, and Naomie Harris as Shriek.
Judging by the footage in the trailer, Brock is enticed to interview the villain Cletus Kasady/Carnage (Woody Harrelson) at Ravencroft Institute (we saw some hints of this in the mid-credits sequence of the first movie).
Kasady is a serial killer who believes his story will be marketable to Brock’s readers. And it’s hard to argue with him, Marvel Blog True Believers, it is the plot of the sequel, after all. But when Brock visits Kasady in prison, Kasady bites him! A vampire-in-training, aka Kasady, knows the taste of blood, Brock tastes strange!
Soon, Kasady has become Carnage, a murderous monster who makes Venom seem like a pretty-okay guy!
In fact, just the footage in the trailer shows us some pretty horrific kills by Carnage (who wants to get overfilled with tongue), so you can expect the body count to climb pretty high when the movie arrives this autumn.
In addition to battles between Venom and Carnage, the trailer promises lots of internal arguments between Brock and Venom, plus it shows us several appearances of Shriek, who is a mutant in Marvel Comics continuity – with the revelation in the comics that Shang-Chi’s sister is a mutant, are they finally coming to the screen?
Venom 2
Venom: Let There Be Carnage was initially scheduled to arrive in theaters on September 24th, 2021. However, in the most recent trailer, there was no release date listed for the film. Between the Black Widow streaming lawsuit and the rumor Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is being delayed, it seems like the writing is on the wall for a later release for Venom 2 as well.
