Charlie Cox Denies His Arms Are in the Spider-Man 3 Trailer
In an interview with ComicBook.com about his current project, Kin on AMC+, Charlie Cox, who played Matt Murdock in all three seasons of Daredevil on Netflix (not to mention one season of The Defenders), denied that his forearms appeared in the Spider-Man 3: No Way Home teaser trailer.
Sound like a bizarre statement, Marvel Blog True Believers? Not in the wild world of Marvel casting speculation! Let’s dig into the details of this mysterious case (and hope that we can solve the mystery without having to incur the additional expenses associated with the private detective services of Jessica Jones)!
No Way Home
This rumor goes back to the earliest days of chatter about Spider-Man 3, when it was being speculated that the movie could be something of a live-action Spider-Verse (speculation that seems to have been borne out by the new teaser trailer).
When the highly anticipated teaser trailer was finally released last week, a lot of people watched it. Like, a whole multiverse of people!
But one thing some people caught was a scene in which Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is sitting in what appears to be a police station. And then, two forearms come down on the table in front of him…
Immediately following the teaser trailer, Twitter began to speculate that those forearms belonged to Parker’s legal counsel, which of course, they immediately began to speculate was Matt Murdock, Avocado at Law.
Avocado At Law
However, Charlie Cox told ComicBook.com that those absolutely weren’t his forearms, saying, “I can promise you those are not my forearms.”
…but just like Marvel superheroes, rumors don’t die that easily, Marvel Blog True Believers!
First of all, remember that Andrew Garfield said he was “never called” to appear in this movie… but we kind of think he’s in it!
Maybe those arms belong to a different character, while Murdock stands right behind him? Or maybe they are the arms of a stunt person, so they are not technically Charlie Cox’s arms?
Or maybe he’s just lying. You know lawyers!
