The SHANG-CHI Celebration Weekend Continues!
Two days ago, Friday, September 3rd, 2021, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was released exclusively in theaters! The newest entry in the ongoing story of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this movie features the rise of a bold new superhero: Shang-Chi (Simu Liu)!
As you might expect, Marvel is putting their all behind the promotion of the movie, and that means that today and yesterday, Saturday, September 4th, 2021 have brought a slew of new adverts to keep us pumped for the new hero (and it’s working, Marvel Blog True Believers).

Another New Poster
Two days ago, we got the first in a series of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings posters, featuring the climatic face-off between father and son as well as the titular Ten Rings.
Then, yesterday, we get the second Shang-Chi poster by Poster Posse professional artist Cryssy Cheung, who has previously done gorgeous vector art for Marvel Studios films like Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel – seriously, check out these links, I am so happy to have discovered Cheung’s work.

Once again, the poster depicts Shang-Chi in battle against his father, Wenwu (Tony Leung), with the titular Ten Rings divided between them (and looking very different depending on who is wielding the weapons)!
Asked & Answered
In addition to the new poster, the day that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings hit theaters, we also saw the release of another cast interview, this one featuring Awkwafina (Katy), Meng’er Zhang (Xialing), and Michelle Yeoh (Ying Nan). All three actresses answer plenty of questions (although my favorite might be Awkwafina’s answer to her preferred superpower, cooking chicken on any parking lot surface).

In addition, the interview reveals that during filming, when Zhang had a song stuck in her head, she would often sing it aloud (resulting in the song getting stuck in Awkwafina’s head, as well)… resulting in sort of cast-wide earworm that will now spread to you, Marvel Blog True Believers.
And finally, Zhang reveals that she highly valued the perspective of Sir Ben Kingsley, who plays Trevor Slatterly in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. According to Zhang, Kingsley gave her advice on the differences between stage acting and screen acting, and she even felt as though she should be taking notes!
When will Professor Slatterly and Professor Loki team-up?
